Overview

These fly-in safaris are perfect for visitors to Kenya who have limited time to spare or would simply like to add on a few nights to an existing trip. Trips depart from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport and include return flight.

 

From open desert scrubland and thorn bush to evergreen riverine forest and swamps that line the Ewaso Ngiro River, the diversity of Samburu is exhilarating. The park’s wildlife is diverse and interesting sightings may include the graceful reticulated giraffe, elephant, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra and a variety of predators.

 

 DAY 1: FLY FROM NAIROBI TO SAMBURU NATIONAL PARK

Our driver will pick you up and take you to the Wilson Airport for your morning flight to Samburu. During your flight, you will enjoy Mt. Kenya Views, Aberdares Forest, the beautiful Laikipia Plains, You will arrive at Oyrx Airstrip where our ground driver will pick you up and take you to Sasaab Lodge for your next 3 nights stay.

After your lunch and refreshments, you will embark in a 2 hours game drive within the conservancy and or Samburu National Park.

Dinner and overnight at Sasaab Lodge or similar

 

 

DAY 2 : SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE GAME DRIVE

Our driver will come get you in the morning for game drive in the conservancy and  later , proceed to take breakfast in Samburu Reserve which will be served in the wild. We will be on a 4 hours game drive in search of the big five wildlife of the reserve and conservancy, the many bird species and other wildlife experiences.  

 

 Later that afternoon, head back to the lodge for lunch and afternoon relaxation before embarking for the evening activities.   We shall engage in camel walk that evening in search of wildlife and visit the best sightings in the reserve.  A sundowner will crown the day with dinner and overnight at Sasaab Lodge or similar

 

DAY 3: SAMBURU RESERVE, CULTURAL ACTIVITIES AND BUSH WALK

You shall wake up and have breakfast and head out for a brief game drive within the reserve. Afterwards you shall go to a nearby school / village for a visit and learn about the Samburu culture.   Later you will return to the lodge for lunch and afternoon relaxation.  

 

 Later that evening, we shall have a guided bush walk within the reserve in search of the precious views, small hikes and beautiful sunsets.  Sundowner will be served while in the bush for a once in a lifetime experience. 

 Dinner and overnight at Sasaab Lodge

 

 

DAY 4 : FLY FROM SAMBURU TO NAIROBI

This marks the last day in Samburu region. After a well experienced stay and activities, we shall fly back to Nairobi.   You shall check out early afternoon after your heavy breakfast to Nairobi and be dropped at your hotel in Nairobi or at the Airport for your homebound flight
